The adult dentate gyrus is a site of ongoing neuronal production, however, little is understood about the regulation of the development of this important neurogenic niche. One of the focuses of the lab is to understand this process and how it is regulated.
Dentate Gyrus Morphogenesis
A marker of immature dentate granule neurons labels cells at the inner border of the dentate granule cell layer.
During postnatal development dentate granule neurons are initially distributed diffusely in the hilus.
