About the UCSF Stroke Sciences Group
Founded in 2002, the Stroke Sciences Group (SSG) is an active division of the Department of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. The group's overall goal is to study the epidemiology and natural history of neurovascular disease, and then apply this knowledge to the development of management strategies.
Mission Statement
To reduce the burden of stroke in our local and global communities:
- by identifying its causes and treatments,
- through state-of-the-art clinical and translational research.
Research
Our focus is on clinical research into the causes and best treatments for a variety of conditions including stroke.
